There are serious lessons to be learnt by all directors of multiple retailers from toy shop chain The Entertainer and its continued increases in sales and profits.
Clearly, paying staff well, and thereby retaining them, giving staff a rest day every week, stocking a wide and quality range and selling at good prices are the key to success — especially in a difficult retail climate.
I am amazed and disappointed that other retailers do not follow such a clearly proven, highly successful route to driving sales and profits.
The path to success and survival for multiple retailers lies in the opposite direction to that taken by all but one known current chain.
