'Israel - the truth'
Dear
Sir
You may find that not all Christians will agree with your
introduction about the current state of Israel and its connection
with Abraham.
It sounds as if you are promoting the land grabbing movement
of "Zionism". In other words whereby people of the Jewish
religion (not Christian) are encouraged to feel that in
whichever part of the world they currently reside they were
and are entitled to go to the area which is at present designated
Israel (thanks to a failure by the British Government about
60 years ago and a subsequent 7- day- war supported by arms
from the US with its large population of Zionists), but
which is not actually recognised by modern Arab States as
even existing .Its neighbour Jordan does not recognise Israel
(it does not appear on their maps).
Jordan is much poorer state militarily, far less aggressive
and not needing such a ghastly police force with guns as
Israel has. Despite producing wonderful fruit etc like Israel,
Jordan is comparatively economically deprived thanks to
all the bias given towards the Israeli state; even river
water is stolen from Jordanian agriculture by the Israeli
State with all its aid from Zionists in USA. Countless Christian
Arabs were forced to flee their homes over the past 60 years
to such places as Jordan (there are a few lucky ones who
are not now still living in refugee camps) because of the
state of Israel stealing their huge farms and villages in
the West Bank and other areas of "Israel".
If you followed the statistics of the racial mix of this
area now compared with 50 years ago you will note that people
of Jewish religion and Zionist desires were very low in
numbers compared to today, now that the Palestinian villages
and land have all been taken over by force (a case of David
having overcome the Goliath of the majority who happened
not to follow the Jewish religion). I fail to see what connection
a racist pushy Zionist land-grabbing movement, similar to
that of the apartheid movement in South Africa has with
religions, either Jewish or Christian. I had always thought
that the Bible dealt with spiritual matters rather than
matters of possessing land and politics. After all, Jesus
himself told people to give up possessions (including land,
presumably) before following him.
The mis-understanding of the present cruel racist oppression
of Israeli Arabs and deprivation of their land titles is
due to faulty reporting and propoganda which confuses the
plight of people who were Jews during the war years with
the Zionist movement which has allowed one race to take
the land belonging to people of another race. Does the Israeli
state believe that the sufferings which people of Jewish
religion had and died from under Hitler entitle them to
take similar reprisals on their own people who happen to
be of Moslem and Christian religion. There are very very
many Palestinians who are Christians - what about them?
I am amazed that a Christian website as its introduction
appears to be promoting the sort of cruelty where aggressive
Israeli soldiers have the freedom to shoot any stonethrowing
Palestinian boys. Have you ever read the losided statistics
for the deaths on either side since, say the 70s? I think
you would be amazed to read the figures which of course
have not been published in our biassed press. You are assuming
a lot in assuming that we Christians all believe the same
in politics (a bit like some Christians who assume that
all Christians are anti-abortion).
In the hope that your web-site will allow the free interchange
of truly Christian ideas rather than instant judgmentalist
views on political matters. If you wish to print my letter
as an individual opinion you may.
Yours faithfully
