Women 'finding it easier' to balance work and home
Companies across the world are making it easier for women to balance family with a career, it has been observed.
According to the Economist, the trend of increasing numbers of females in the workforce is likely to continue as opportunities increase.
Flexible working was said to be more fashionable, with over 90 per cent of firms in Germany and Sweden now doing so. And with firms introducing provisions for people to work nine days in a fortnight and allowing husbands and wives to share jobs, the news source noted: "The corporate world is doing ever more to address the loss of female talent and the difficulty of combining work with childcare."
The publication added that six million of the eight million new jobs created in the European Union since 2000 have been filled by women.
Last month, HomeAway.co.uk found that spending too much time apart from kids is a concern for many dads, with over half believing they are missing out on their children growing up because of the pressures of work.
