Plastic surgery almost led me to suicide, admits woman who spent £40,000 on cosmetic procedures

A woman who spent over £40,000 on 15 plastic surgery operations trying to make herself "beautiful" has spoken about how the procedures almost led her to suicide.

And, according to a new report, published in the Current Psychiatry Reports, women who have undergone plastic surgery have a much higher chance of killing themselves.

Laura Pillarella, speaking to the Daily Mail, first had plastic surgery on her chin and eyes to improve her self confidence, but, she said: "When the bandages came off, I was disappointed.

 "I wasn't ¬beautiful — just different.

"It wasn't enough."

When her surgeon told her that the problem with her looks was that she had undergone too much plastic surgery, she planned her own suicide.

She said that she was going to take sleeping pills with wine in a hotel room,

"I'd made myself look ¬hideously ugly," she added.

Last month reality TV star Heidi Montag spoke about how her surgery had "ruined" her life.

She famously had ten different surgeries in one day, but she said the procedures have left her with scars and bald patches.
