In these trying times, with all the budget cuts being implemented and the world economy looking uncertain, people are losing their jobs, homes and cars, the world is constantly talking about how the future looks bleak.
It’s so easy to fall into the same way of thinking with the television, radio and colleagues all talking about doom and gloom, your outlook can change as well if you let it. Our hope is not in man, your boss, your health, the economy or politics, your hope should be in the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact our hope should be so secure, we should be using this time to rejoice, yes I said rejoice!
God tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you, if you choose to concentrate on the goodness of God rather than what’s going on in the world, your strength and trust will increase in God. The bible even teaches us that we should glory in tribulations while the world mourns, because we know that tribulations produces perseverance and perseverance, character; and character, hope! It’s going to be hard but I know, I’m going to come out a better person and be promoted to take on greater things.
Our faith needs to be at such a level that our strength and hope is in him for we know that the battle will not be ours to fight but his, so that means that all we need to do is give him praise. Praising God increases your confidence while dwelling on negative thoughts about your future pulls you down into a downward spiral of disbelief and doubt.
This kind of thinking takes away the faith that we should have in God and prevents him from fulfilling what he needs to do! So stop believing everything you hear, get stuck in the word and start praising him. Praise kicks spiritual wheels into motion, for blessed is the man whose hope is in the Lord (Psalm 146:5).
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to praise you in all circumstances or situations. Keep my level of faith and trust in you and not in the picture that the world paints. Please give me the ability to keep a positive mindset regardless of what comes my way, in Jesus name, amen. |
