Keep your mind pure
by Chip K (from the Band with no name)

Wise little sayings are everywhere. Somehow, throughout history, these ancient proverbs get recycled and continue to turn truths into simple bitesize easy-to remember phrases.
Take for instance, ‘A watched pot never boils,’ or ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away,’ or ‘If you sprinkle when you tinkle be a sweetie and wipe the seatie.’ Truly educational. One of my favourite wise sayings, especially when it comes to guarding your mind, is this: ‘Garbage in, garbage out.’
Simple, but incredibly effective.
Someone else said something very similar ages ago. He said, ‘As a man thinks in his heart, so shall he be.’ By saying this, he wasn’t implying that if you think about carrots long enough you’ll eventually turn into a carrot. He was talking about something much deeper than that. Whatever you spend most of your time thinking about, whether on a conscious level or even subconsciously, it’s probably going to come out in your actions. If you fill your mind with sinful thoughts, guess what? You’re gonna wind up sinning. Garbage in, garbage out.
If you fill your mind with Scripture, you’re going to start living according to the Bible.
By keeping tabs on what you feed your mind every day, you’re also investing in a life that will lead to better rewards from your actions.
